Mardin Tours 2026 — Stone City, Deyrulzafaran Monastery, Midyat
Honey-coloured stone houses on a Mesopotamian escarpment, with a Syriac monastery still active after 1,500 years.
Mardin is the most photogenic small city in Türkiye: 4,000 years of continuous habitation on a single hillside above the Mesopotamian plain, with every building (by municipal decree) cut from the same honey-coloured limestone. The old city is a stack of madrasas, mosques, churches and konaks (Ottoman mansions) on stepped lanes that no vehicle can climb.
